Our History

HAM was founded in 1980 in Barcelona, ​​in the town of Badalona, ​​as a family business engaged in the road transportation of dangerous goods.

Subsequently, in 1997 we expanded our activity with the creation of the first fuel service station in Abrera (Barcelona) to supply our own fleet of vehicles and service the nearby towns.

In the year 2000, we acquired ten tractors powered by liquefied natural gas in the United States, pioneering in Europe the use of this type of fuel for transport, undertaking from that moment an environmental challenge and a determined commitment to reduce contaminating gases. At the same time, we installed the first LNG supply point in our service station, aimed at starting to operate a new service station in Sant Sadurní de Anoia that same year.

One year later, in 2001, we incorporated into our activity, the design and installation of regasification plants in relation to natural gas supply. Initially, it was for industrial application, and at present, it is also being used for vehicular projects, allowing the supply in industries and even in cities with a significant number of inhabitants, during the gas pipeline supply installation works.

Our next step was in 2003, when we started to sell combustible gases. Since then, we have been able to offer a comprehensive natural gas service including transportation, supply, installation, maintenance and control of natural gas regasification plants. It was the beginning of what is known as the HAM Group.

Already in 2009, we added a new service linked to natural gas vehicle when we installed the first NGV dispenser in Spain in our Abrera service station, a road service station for public use only. This represented a strong commitment to this fuel. The first step was to replace all our fleet of business vehicles with others incorporating the NGV as fuel. That same year, we inaugurated a third service station in the centre of the metropolitan area of ​​Barcelona.

A new department was created in 2012, which is our presence in the maritime sector, with projects related to the LNG bunkering service.

At present, the HAM Group is leader in the comprehensive of natural liquefied gas (LNG) and natural compressed gas (CNG) service, both in industries and in mobile-vehicle, maritime, and other environments, enhancing more efficient and sustainable improvements in facilities and natural gas supply and bunkering services in the naval industry.
